Learning to Build Better: Luke’s Journey into Passive House Construction

At Saxony, we’re always looking for ways to build better — not just to meet standards, but to raise them.
Building healthy, high-performance homes isn’t something we just “add on” at the end of a project. For us at Saxony it’s embedded right from the start — in how we think, how we learn, and how we approach every home we create.

That’s why Luke is currently expanding his skills & knowledge through the Passive House course with the Australian Passivhaus Association (APA).

What is Passive House — and Why Does It Matter?

You might have heard the term “Passivhaus” (or Passive house ) popping up more and more when it comes to sustainable, high-performance building.
At its core, Passivhaus is a proven, rigorous building standard focused on:

  • Exceptional thermal comfort (meaning your home stays cosy in winter and cool in summer)

  • Extremely low energy use (saving you money and reducing environmental impact)

  • Healthy indoor air quality (thanks to clever ventilation systems that keep the air fresh)

It's not just about ticking sustainability boxes. It's about creating homes that are built for the comfort and wellbeing of the occupant.

What This Means For Our Clients

When you build with Saxony, you’re not just getting a beautiful home — you’re getting the benefits of real-world expertise backed by continual learning.
